about me

I’m Sophie, dumpling addict, dog lover, coffee fan, champion napper, creative human, product stylist and photographer and the big cheese behind Sophie Louise Creative.

I've always been the creative type and as a kid I was often getting my hands dirty making something.

After studying photography in Dunedin, I worked a season as a summer camp photographer in Texas. I then went on to spend a couple of years working in photography in London.

Coming home after my travels, I knew I wanted to start something of my own but wasn’t quite sure what. One day I was asked to style and shoot some handbags. I was hooked. I had such a blast and that’s when it all fell into place.

I’m a visual person with creative intuition and I love making things look pretty, so naturally,
starting this wee delight of a business was a dream fit.

about my process

As a product stylist and photographer, I provide creatively styled, high resolution product images that suit your brand at an affordable price.

I do all my shoots using a mix of natural light and studio lighting. I sway more on the side of natural light as it is the prettiest, you just really can't beat it.

Working with me is fun and simple. It starts with filling out my client form, telling me all about your biz, your style and what you love.

This helps me to understand what you’re looking for and gets the creative ideas flowing.

From there you send me your products, I work my magic, and before you know it, you’re doing your happy dance with your new kick ass shots.

This shot for Nevé candles is a great example of my style. It is clean and minimal using neutral colours to compliment the candles and let them shine. The natural light and use of shadows create ambience and interest to pull the viewer in and evoke emotion.

This shot for Puraz shows the consistency of my simple and minimal style. Once again the use of neutral colours to let the product stand out. This image also creates a story for the viewer. It tells the viewer who the product is for and how it is to be used. And my dog Alfie is the cutest model out.

Sophie’s genuine interest in learning about my product, brand values and ethos impressed me.

Product photography adds value to a product and as a new business it was vital that Sophie ‘got’ my brand.

The care, enthusiasm and expertise taken with each shot is exceptional and, in a competitive market, gives my products a point of difference.

I look forward to having Sophie take my next set of product photographs.
